In February 2023, COERR Mae Sarieng organized Child Protection Assessment Training for Ban Mae La Oon and Ban Mae Lama Luang Temporary Shelters, in Mae Hong Son Province’s Sob Moei District, on February 16-17, 2023 for 20 camp-based refugee staff of 10 females and 10 males in Ban Mae La oon, and 18 CBRS of 11 females and 7 males in Ban Mae Lama Luang. Meanwhile, COERR Mae Sot organized the Training in Ban Mae La Temporary Shelter in Tak Province’s Tha Song Yang District during February 21-22, 2023 for 46 Camp based refugee staff of 43 females and 3 males. The objectives of the training were to convince CBRS to realize the importance of Child Protection Assessment, to practice writing skills and filling out assessment form, to enable CBRS to prioritize situational risk of the child and family, to apply the knowledge gained from the training to assess needs and create action plan; to have CBRS practice home visit, conduct interview and then record data in the assessment Form. Eventually, the training aims to have CBRS to understand the child protection need assessment form and action plan that should enable them to apply these skills to provide proper assistance to the refugee chilren.
